2005 Update

I am sorry to say Stan and I are unable to attend the Class reunion. My daughter Carrie is getting married Oct. 8th, 2005. Carrie lost her first husband Oct 31st, 2002 of cancer. I enclosed a picture of my husband and daughters and Karen Healy. We also have two sons, Steve 30 and John 28. We have three grandchildren.

Hello to everyone. Have a great weekend!

We’ve been spending our winters in Florida and, this year, bought a new boat. We’re leaving for Key West at the end of April; then on to the Bahamas; and we won’t be back in port until the end of May. I’m sorry to miss seeing everyone and hope you’ll say hello for me. As you can see, I don’t have a life.

Mary Elizabeth Charboneau Iacopelli        m.iacopelli@worldnet.att.com

The greatest joys of my life resulted from my marriage to Mike Bossary. I have four sons --Michael, Andy, Matt and Alex – who kept me busy and fulfilled for many years. Besides the joy of four sons, my life now includes three daughters-in-law -- Marie, Therese and Wendy.

Even more happiness came along with grandchildren. Tim and Wayne, my oldest grandsons, are nineteen and twenty-one years old. Finally, at age 50, while going through our divorce, I was blessed with Megan Jo (who I insist on calling Megan Joy) as she became my first granddaughter. She also has a brother, Nathan, who taught me that my heart could expand unbelievably. Even then my blessings have lately increased to include my latest granddaughter, Miss Annalee – Matt and Wendy’s first child.

Life is good! Five years after my divorce, I married Marco Iacopelli. Along with him came 2 sons, 2 daughters, 3 in-laws and twelve more grandchildren!!

Let me tell you, grandchildren are easy.

We now live in Naples, Florida, which is the closest place to paradise here on earth. We go to friends for dinner, have friends to dinner (reason for weight gain), play cards, play bocci, do aerobics, walk and plan cruises. I have had the great joy lately of attending writer’s workshops. Writing "Dear God" letters has been a constant part of my life.

Always a seeker of truth. Forever on a spiritual path developed by 12 step programs. Grateful for my life and all its happenings.

Nancy Wicker Chwalik

Tom Chwalik passed away on September 23, 2002 after a long battle against cancer. Tom and Nancy (Wicker) Chwalik live in Farmington Hills, Michigan where they raised three children and now enjoy retirement. Tom completed his formal education at Eastern Michigan University with an MBA in Management Science. He worked for Ford Motor Company for thirty-one years in various divisions and on assignments that took him and his family to Europe, South America and the Middle East. Tom completed his career with Ford as Manufacturing Manager and was most recently responsible for the roll out of Ford’s Manufacturing Strategy worldwide. He now works for an international consulting firm where he continues to interface with the auto industry. He enjoys antique cars, skiing, sailing, tennis and works out and runs daily.

Nancy also completed her formal education at Eastern Michigan University with a Masters in Education after receiving a degree in Nursing. She worked for the Wayne/Westland School District for twenty-seven years – bought three years and retired in 1999. Nancy taught grade school in five different schools and enjoyed working/teaching St. Mary’s classmates children and then their children.

Number one son, Robert earned an MBA from the University of Michigan along with degrees in Chemistry from Albion College and a Chemical Engineering Degree from Wayne State. He works for PRTM a consulting firm located in Boston, Massachusetts. Bob lives in Grosse Ile and has two children.

Joanne Curzytek Levens                       jlevens@peoplepc.com

After graduating from St. Mary’s, I went out into the working world, eventually winding up at Ford Motor Company as a secretary in 1961. Then, with various promotions, I ended up in Human Resources from which I retired in late 1998 after 37 years with them. Then in early January of this year, I was called back to share my expertise and work part time (3 days per week) which I thoroughly enjoy.

In 1959, I met Frank Levens on a blind date and we were married in 1963. Frank is an electrician at Ford. We have one child, a son, who is married to a lovely girl from Grand Rapids whom he met while attending Michigan State University. They have two of the world’s most beautiful children (our grandchildren), Kendall 4 years old, and Andrew, 2 years. Since they live only 5 miles away in Plymouth, we get to see them frequently.

Since we do have the two grandchildren, our retirement plans center on them and staying in Michigan to be close by. However, we have traveled to 42 states and will see the other 8 states soon.

My hobbies include: (but not in any specific order), gardening, using the computer to communicate with friends all over the world, taking care of the grandchildren, shopping, sewing, going to lunch with my retired girlfriends, reading, doing some church work, etc.

Our pets include two spoiled rotten cats - George and Murphy Brown.
