What's New for Horizon Text & HTML Workshop!

Version 1.42:

1) Changed the 'Convert to quoted text' option to 'Append quote or
other character to each line'. I did this so I could easily change
a text document to 'HTML ready' by appending <P> to each line.

Version 1.41:

1) In some installations, if the user had not specified that a 'Notes'
file be opened when the program is first run, then the program
wouldn't let them exit the program, forcing them to end the
program using Windows Task manager instead. This was fixed.

2) When the user selected to 'Insert CR's at right margin', if the
selected text included blank lines, sometimes more blank lines
would be added during the operation. This was fixed.

Version 1.37:

1) Added a new option to strip a character string from selected
   text.

2) Fixed some timing issues when opening multiple documents.

Version 1.34:

1) Fixed problems with opening and saving documents that have no
   extension.

2) If you selected to open a file in Workshop from Windows familiar
'Open with...' dialog, Workshop sometimes wouldn't open it correctly.
   That is now fixed.

Version 1.32:

1) Added 2 new toolbar drop down boxes, 'Font name' and 'Font size',
which makes it easy to quickly change font name or size without
also changing the color or emphasis of your text.

2) Fixed a bug that sometimes prevented being able to print just a
*selection* of text, rather than the whole document.

Version 1.30:

1) Fixed an error that sometimes occurred when adding read-only
   shortcuts to the Project List.

2) Also fixed a similar error that sometimes occurred when closing a
document that had changes made but hadn't been saved to disk yet.

Version 1.28:

1) Added a 'Page setup' dialog and 'Print preview' for registered users,
allowing them to adjust and view page margins before printing.

2) Added a 'Paste Special' dialog, to paste objects into a document using
   OLE.

3) Added more explanation to the manual about how to use OLE to insert
and drag external objects into open documents.

Version 1.25:

1) Added a new option 'Sort lines' which will sort the selected lines of the
   document, in ascending order.

2) Added to the website a smaller, simpler installation package for users
who are upgrading from a previous version, rather than installing from
   scratch.

3) Added a new 'Open with...' option to the Project List and Treeview menus.

Version 1.24:

1) Added a new option 'Convert selection to quoted text' which will append
a '>' or any combination of characters you want, to the beginning of
each line of selected text. This is used in emails and newsgroups to
separate the original person's text from your reply.

Version 1.23:

1) Added to the Personal Notes window, all the functionality of a regular
document window, including custom colors, fonts, emphasis, auto-complete,
   find/replace, etc.

Users who are upgrading should first open their existing Notes file as
a document, then re-save it with the .RTF extension, if they want to make
   use of these new features.

2) Fixed a problem where, if you added an open document to the project list
(from the menu), it would append 'Line: xxx', to the list entry, causing
an error if you then tried to open it from the project list window.

Version 1.18:

1) Added a new option 'Insert CR's at right margin', which is used to
create fixed margins in plain text documents.

2) Fixed the Find/Replace procedure so it will wrap around correctly to
the beginning of the current document, or the next document (if 'All
   documents is selected).

3) Added Autocomplete to the file name textboxes in preferences, so that,
once you start typing, a combo box will drop down to suggest or help you
   complete existing file names.

Version 1.15:

1) Modified the 'Add read-only shortcut' procedure to eliminate the 'Runtime
error 5' message that some people experienced.

2) Added the option to download Horizon Text & HTML Workshop as a Microsoft
Windows Installer package. See the downloads page for details.

Version 1.14:

1) Added the ability to toggle document windows between word-wrapped and
   non-word-wrapped mode.

2) Added the display of the current line # in the document window captions.

3) Enhanced the Find/Replace dialog, including the addition of a new option
to 'Goto', or 'jump to' a specific line # in the document, which is great
for setting bookmarks (Each found line # is stored for easy recall in the
dialog's combo box), and debugging javascripts.

4) Added logic to preserve window states if the program closes because Windows
is shutting down, so that they will be restored correctly the next time the
   program is run.

Version 1.13:

1) Made the Project List and Tree view frame user-resizable.

2) Added a new preference option to add documents to Windows 'Recent
Documents' Start Menu when they are opened & saved.

3) Added a new 'Project List' menu option, 'Open item(s) with external
   application'.

Version 1.10:

1) Changed the program to communicate with Windows Explorer using DDE logic
so that, if Horizon Text & HTML Workshop is already running when you click
on files in Explorer, they will open in the original window, rather than
   spawning additional windows.

2) Changed the treeview drag/drop logic, so that, if you drag & drop a file into
the *same* directory, Windows will rename it 'Copy of...', but, if you drop it
into a *different* directory that has a file with the same name, you'll get Windows'
standard 'Do you want to overwrite' prompt. This is the same convention
   that Windows Explorer uses.

Version 1.09:

1) Added HTML special symbols like '&nbsp;' to Auto-Complete.txt, and the
ability to specify the '&' character as a hotkey in addition to the '<'
character, and the ability to add or substitute your own hotkeys.

2) Added preference options to make it easier to specify which files you want
to open in Workshop, and which you want to open with external programs, as
a supplement to, or alternative to, modifying your system's file
associations. This is really great for novice users in particular.

Version 1.08:

1) Full OLE Drag/Drop capability was added, allowing you to drag & drop objects
between the Project list, Tree view, open documents, and Windows Explorer
and any other OLE programs. You can now also drop a document onto Horizon
Text & HTML Workshop's icon, to open it.

2) When deleting Tree view items, you can now elect to move them to the Recycle
   bin, or delete permanently.

3) Internet options to 'Compose an email message', 'Start usenet newsreader',
& 'Start FTP program' were added.

4) Instructions to associate file types w/Horizon Text & HTML Workshop were
   added.

5) Instructions to convert MS Word files to RTF (Rich Text Format) were added.

6) HTML and Letter template files, and instructions about how to create & use
template files to simplify new document creation, were added.

Version 1.02:

1) Auto-Complete was added!!! If you enable Auto-Complete, then you can hit F4,
and (optionally) the first character or so of the word or phrase you want
(or type the first character or so first and *then* hit F4),
and Horizon Text & HTML Workshop will auto-complete it for you.

Horizon Text & HTML Workshop comes pre-loaded with all the HTML tags, and you
can also add your own auto-complete phrases, for instance your name, email,
   website URL, mailing address, etc.

(When editing HTML documents, instead of hitting F4, you can also just type
'<', & Horizon Text & HTML Workshop will help you auto-complete the phrase,
   for example '<a href= ...'.)

2) Added an 'Insert Object' menu option which displays an OLE Insert Object dialog
box to select an object to insert into a document.

Thank you!
