In the 1850 Coffee Co., TN census, this family shows up as Whitamon. This is probably due to not being able to read the handwritting on the original census. The youngest child (Telitha ) was five at the time of the census, therefore James Whittemore must have died between 1844 and 1850.

DIED AT ST. JOSEPH

William Earp, 82 died at a hospital in St. Joseph Sunday morning. The Body was brought to the home of his daughter, Mrs. Luther Auwater, east of Enon, from where the funeral services were held Monday afternoon. Burial was at Bogard.

Mr. Earp is survived by four children, two daughters, Mrs. Auwater and Mrs. Jesse Youman of Bogard; and two sons, William Earp, Jr., of Detroit, Mich, and James Earp, of Mercer, Mo.

William Earp, Jr., was here from Detroit the latter part of the week, and left for home Saturday. James J. was there from Mercer to attend the funeral.
