Mario Cuomo, the former governor of New York, (with the help of Kathy-jo Wargin) wrote his story of an event that happened to him as a young boy, shaping his philosophy in life. His father always told him, "You work hard and never give up and you can succeed at anything." It is a heartwarming story about the love of a father and his son, a special bond between a boy and a tree, and the importance of never giving up.
Gijsbert felt honored to have been requested by Mario Cuomo to illustrate this book. He rose to the occasion and painted beautiful illustrations to match the moving story.
