In 1948 The Berlin airlift was a joint effort from France, Britain and America to aid over 2.2 million West Berliners who were cut off from food, clothing, heat and electricity A true story about hope and friendship sure to inspire young readers. After WW 2, American pilot Lt.Gail Halvorsen goes beyond the call of duty to give the children of Berlin a reason to hope for a better world. In the process he makes a life-long friend with one of the children he helped.
"What then of our future? I think you will agree with me that our children are our future. Not just our children, but everyone’s children.”
