The Legend of Mackinac Island is the second in the series of Legend books Gijsbert and author Kathy-jo Wargin have created. It is even more succesful than their first, The Legend of Sleeping Bear, now designated as Michigan's Official State Children's book. The "Bear" is now in it's 5th printing with over 100,000 copies sold since May of 1998.

The Legend of Mackinac Island is a tale of how Mackinac Island was created, and a story in which the humblest of all the creatures suceeds and becomes the hero.
Gijsbert's bright, beautiful colors combined with Kathy-jo flowing and sometimes haunting prose has made this another keepsake for thousands of people.
Books available through artist's gallery- autographed & personalized.

Original paintings from the book are available.
