*With runners on 1st (Grant) and 2nd (Hendricks) and no outs, Richardson drove a double to right-center. "Big" Grant ambled around the
bases at "breakneck" speed. He rounded third just as the throw was on it's way to the plate. Out of gas, he manufactured an incredible
slide to avoid the tag. SAFE!! Grant may recover from this effort sometime in mid-July (the Aviators hope!) :)

2006 Home Run Hitting Contest
When: Starts at 9:15AM (appx)
Where: Maywood Memorial Park
Congratulations to Tom O'Neill of the Browns, the winner of the
2006 Home Run Derby. Tom hit 5 dingers out of his 25 pitches to
win the $288 prize.
All contestants will have payed $20 to their manager to enter. They must supply their own pitcher (a catcher will be provided). Therefore, the two will for all intents and purposes make up a team. They will have 25 baseballs (25 pitches) to hit as many home runs as possible. The winner takes all (minus $2 a batter to go to the catcher). The players are listed in the order that they will bat
