I think everybody who
enjoys a life with dogs, will have one dog that to them is
extra special.
To me, it's Ruffa. It's her temperament and disposition that
makes her the ideal Beardie for me.
She is the most gentle dog, afraid of nothing, loyal,
affectionate and very patient with puppies and babies.
I think this combination between a very sweet disposition
and a brave, hardworking dog, is what the Bearded Collie is
all about. They are not just another pet, nor are they just
another working dog.
Beardies are both.

Ruffa had a
successful show career in Sweden, making it to #8 in breed
on the Top 10 and winning CACIBs and Reserv CACIBs. She's
passed the Swedish Working Dogs Association's (Svenska
Brukshundsklubben) Temperament Test. Her hips are x-rayed
and clear under the Swedish Kennel Club system. Ruffa was 6
years old when we moved from Sweden to the U.S. At age 9 she
passed the Herding Instinct Test. She has been among the top
brood bitches in Sweden for two years in a row and has also
earned her ROM in the United States.
