Oceana High School.... What an exciting place to work!
For the fourteen years of our existence the entire staff agrees " We have never had a dull day!" Oceana High School employs a highly qualified and highly motivated staff, some having been here since its founding in 1987.
The challenges are great. One hundred and thirty students, pursuing a High School diploma, have applied to Oceana High School this year with 130 different situations which dictates a specialized educational program.
Our main emphasis, is helping students to achieve academically, while at the same time working on the individual circumstances which was the basis for their referral to Oceana High School.
Oceana High School is centrally located among our consortium districts. Rothbury is at least seven miles from our closest school of referral, giving students a real sense of ownership and responsibility for their building and program.
Students may complete their High School education at Oceana High School, receiving a High School diploma, or they may return to their sending school after successfully completing a pre-determined educational plan.
A warm and friendly atmosphere exists at Oceana giving staff and students a genuine sense of family.
