This 1973 Cal 21 was acquired along Lake Huron's shore in Michigan's thumb.  The seller said that he had purchased it from the last owner with the intent to restore it, but never got to it.  Leaking water causing de-lamination of the bulkhead (plywood) that held the starboard shroud chain plate.  The chain plate then pulled up through the deck, while under sail,  causing additional damage.
