The Animals and Society Institute is a nonprofit, independent research and educational organization that advances the status of animals in public policy, and promotes the study of human-animal relationships. The ASI seeks to advance institutional change for animals by helping to establish the moral and legal rights fundamental to a just, compassionate and peaceful society.
The organization is moving to Ann Arbor, and this position offers the right candidate a rare opportunity to be a key person in a small but influential organization that is making the world better for animals, and to use her/his talents in establishing the new office.
Part Time Administrative Assistant: Animals & Society Institute
Ann Arbor, 24 hours per week, $15/ hour; hours arranged Monday – Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Proficiency in Word, Access, Excel, Outlook and QuickBooks essential. Prior experience with nonprofit database, website highly desirable. Must be able to work independently. Some travel required. Personal interest in animal protection preferred. Part Time Bookkeeper: Animals & Society Institute
Ann Arbor, 6-8 hours per week. Proficiency in QuickBooks and Excel required. Familiarity with accounting for non profit organizations. Maintain all accounting records and files; perform all cash reconciliation and accounts payable functions; prepare periodic financial statements, including budget statements, weekly cash report.
