FICAS is excited to announce a new project we are planning to
launch January, 2006, that we hope will make a noticeable impact
on intake #'s at the shelter. Sadly, there are too
many animals that are being taken into the shelter and not enough
caring & loving homes for them. FICAS feels that fighting pet
overpopulation is the key to success!
Our project is called the "Angel Project". Named after a mother
cat, Angel, who came into the shelter last summer with her 6 baby
kittens, given up by owners who could not afford to care for the
little family. Owners often realize too late that they do not have
the resources to get one beloved pet sterilized let alone the
resources to care for an entire family of pets.
Through the Angel Project, FICAS plans to spay/neuter 1,000 dogs
and cats for low-income Ingham County residents. We plan to enlist
local Veterinarians, businesses & donors to assist in this effort.
We have a lot of work ahead of us to make this project a success
and we need your help!
