An important message from the Committee to Restore the Dove Shooting Ban's FUNdraising Committee:

 Holiday Party with a Purpose - please have a House Party for Michigan's Official Bird of Peace!

Right now, we're looking for people like you to put your passion for saving the doves into action. We need you to host an informal "party with a purpose" for your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers to help spread the Vote No Shooting Doves message, collectively raise urgently needed funds, and recruit more volunteers to support and become involved in the Stop Shooting Doves referendum campaign.  These fun and easy events are great opportunities and put the fun into the word fundraising.  They can be held at your home or a "public" house: pub, restaurant, church, store, etc.

Why we need to do everything we can, why we need you to have a party with a purpose.  The people of the state of Michigan are truly the driving force of saving their doves.  This grassroots citizen effort of participation involves everyone who cares in all the ways they can be involved.  The bottom line for Michigan's doves - without enough funds raised by the people of the state of Michigan, we will not be able to defend our traditional non-game songbirds effectively when we need to.  Together, against all odds, we collectively brought in more than 275,000 signatures during the coldest months of the year...and together with your participation, we can raise the funds needed to finally save our doves and stop the target shooting of traditional backyard songbirds.
