Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo

Dogs and Cats and Rabbits, Oh My!  Looking for a four-legged best friend?  Don’t miss the 5th annual fall “Meet Your Best Friend at the Zoo,” presented by VCA Animal Hospitals, on Saturday and Sunday, September 24 & 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak. 

  • Meet hundreds of adoptable animals including dogs, cats, puppies, kittens and rabbits
     
  • In addition to the MHS, 25 other adoption groups from around the state will be participating
     
  • Stop by our “Ask the Pet Education Center” and “Ask the Vet” booths for free, helpful tips
     
  • It’s a great way to add a new furry family member - tell a friend!
     
  • All dogs and cats will have received a medical check-up and age-appropriate vaccinations
     
  • There’s no charge for admission or parking

Fall Mutt March - Orion Township

Lace ‘em up for the final Mutt March of the season on Saturday, October 1 from Noon to 3:00 p.m.  Join hundreds of other animal lovers for a walk to benefit the homeless animals in our care.  All walkers who turn in $100 or more at the event will receive an official Mutt March t-shirt, and all canine walkers will receive a Mutt March bandana.  Be sure to dress your pet for a Halloween Costume Contest for a chance to win great prizes!  Click here to learn more or register online!

 


2005 Holiday Cards

Send warm holiday greetings that show your support for the animals!  The Michigan Humane Society’s holiday cards are extra special this year, featuring animals photographed while at our shelters as well as indicating support of the Michigan Humane Society. Jeep® Yappy Hour

Presented by Animal Fair Magazine to benefit the Michigan Humane Society.  Get dressed up and bring your dog along to enjoy delicious “yappetizers,” cocktails and great company on Tuesday, October 18 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Yappy Hour will be held at the Omni Detroit Hotel River Place.  Tickets are $60.  (Pooches get in free).  Don’t have a dog?  Don’t worry, some canines for adoption from the Michigan Humane Society will be there to meet and greet you!  All proceeds will benefit the MHS.  Space is limited.  Please RSVP by calling 1-866-MHUMANE.  Click here for more information.
