Hello MHS-Heal Pac Statewide Legislative Action
Alert Network Participants:
Some of you have contacted me and are confused
about a letter you received from the Michigan Humane Society which either
confirms, or asks you to sign up for, participation in a Legislative Alert
E-mail Network.
This is what I contacted you all about several
weeks ago. This is NOT something new or different, and it is a continuation
of the Network you are in now when you get Alerts from me.
The MHS is finally ready to convert to a more
efficient computerized email notification system. I will still create the
Alerts, but instead of you getting them from me, or you having to pass the
Alert on to others in the Network assigned to be contacted by you, everyone
will get the Alerts directly from MHS's new system. For now, this ONLY
applies to email. However, the MHS and I are still working on a complementary
Alert system for those who only have phones. (It will be a prerecorded message
from me or an MHS staffer, verbally telling people the Alert, and urging them
to contact us if they have questions.)
PLEASE fill out the form letter from MHS even if
you are now on my list as this will give them the opportunity to make sure all
data they are now entering into their system is CURRENT and ACCURATE.
PLEASE remember to let me and MHS know whenever
you change your email (or phone if that is how you get Alerts).
PLEASE regard this as an official Alert from me
because I need you to pass this message on to anyone beneath you on your Alert
list (email, phone, or by copying this and mailing it to people), so we can be
sure that EVERYONE has heard about the MHS and I now making this conversion,
and the need for them to get us their current, accurate contact info.
PLEASE TAKE THIS TIME TO MAKE SURE WE HAVE REC'D
YOUR OWN LISTS OF THOSE TO BE NOTIFIED IN YOUR AREA, OR TO ADD PEOPLE YOU KNOW
TO THE OVERALL LIST OF THOSE WHO WANT TO BE A VOICE FOR ANIMALS IN LANSING.
Once we have this up and running, we will not
longer need Regional or Local Captains to take the time to pass on my Alerts
as it will all be done efficiently from one central source. This is so crucial
as we plan to embark upon major state legislation shortly and want to be sure
we are ready to roll.
Remember: their is power in knowledge; and power
in numbers. The more voices we have to speak up for animal
protection bills in Lansing, the more we can
achieve....TOGETHER!
Thanks for all you've done over the years, for
your patience with the imperfect system we've struggled with and which has
caused you so much work. THe MHS and I will be sending out an Test-Run Alert
in June to see how the new system works, and I'll keep you posted on our
progress, and when you no longer have to contact anyone for us.
Regards, Eileen
