THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ACTION AGAINST PROCTER & GAMBLE IS MAY 21ST, 2005

JOIN THE FIGHT AGAINST CORPORATE GREED!!!

Product testing is one of the most heinous practices ever invented.  Caustic chemicals, like those in laundry detergent, floor cleaner (and other household products) are placed into the eyes of rabbits purposely causing severe irritation.  They are also force fed to rats and mice with the desired endpoint being death.  These innocent animals receive no anesthesia or pain relievers of any kind.

I know what these procedures are like.  I was trained to do them.  I have heard a rabbit scream when his/her back breaks.  I have stomach-tubed a mouse and watched it die.  These practices must be stopped.   They are nothing but brutality.

We must fight the companies that perpetrate these atrocities on animals.  We are their only hope.  These aren’t the species that people usually care about the most.  Typically dogs, cats, and primates are not involved, but the tests are no less painful.  They are no less wrong.

Many companies test their products on animals.  Many more do not.  It is up to us to let the people of this country know which companies are which.

One of the largest perpetrators of animal testing is the Procter & Gamble Corporation.  Not only do they test on thousands of animals, but they also have managed to confuse the public about what is really going on.  Many consumers think that P&G is one of the good guys.  Some even think that P&G has stopped testing or made some major strides.  Nothing could be further from the truth.

Over the years P&G has taken many steps actively designed to promote and continue the practice of animal testing.

It is time that we, as a movement, really take on P&G.  Therefore, Stop Animal Exploitation NOW! is calling upon all animal activists to join in the International Day of Action against P&G on May 21st of this year.

We are currently putting up a page on our site (www.saenonline.org) designed to promote this event, and it should be ready in a few days.  In the meantime, please respond by email or by telephone 513-575-5517 if you or your organization can be involved.

Pick a retail outlet in your area as a target.  The only thing that is necessary is that they sell P&G products.  Or, pick a P&G facility.  They will be listed on our web page in a few days.  Go to our product testing fact sheet :   http://www.all-creatures.org/saen/fact-product.html for use in your protest events.

Keep the pressure on P&G after May 21st, the testing won’t stop unless we keep fighting for the animals.  Remember, they depend on us.
