Demonstrations have already been held around the world, including in Detroit, to protest the hunt. Now, a major joint demonstration of concerned U.S. and Canadian activists is planned in downtown Detroit and Windsor during the hunt. A simultaneous demonstration held in both cities affords unique potential to accomplish both of the aforementioned goals because the proximity of the two major urban regions and their close economic and cultural international relationship. Detroit/Windsor constitutes one of the busiest international border crossings in the U.S. Nearly 30,000 commuters pass through the Tunnel connecting the two cities each day, and demonstrators marching outside the entrances/exits to the facility will necessarily be in full view of travelers entering or exiting on their way to and from Canada and the U.S. This affords participants in the demonstration remarkable potential to contribute to the abolition of! this terrible bloodletting.
