Dear Dove Protection Advocates:

Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any delays in response to your messages and important emails. The Committee to Restore the Dove Shooting Ban is on the fast track and doing weeks and months of work in just days and hours. The petition language was finally approved late last week and petitions were printed this week. If we have your mailing address, you can expect important information in your mailbox soon.

The citizen response to the formation of the committee is overwhelmingly positive throughout the state --
we are hearing from animal advocates, avid hunters, biologists, bird hobbyists, environmentalists, falconers, farmers, kids, lobbyists, ornithologists, professors, wildlife rehabilitators, and most of all the average citizen -- there is no doubt that the majority of Michigan citizens are ready to do what it takes to keep Michigan's doves from becoming recreational targets.

Each and every individual is vitally important to the success of continuing the protection of the mourning dove as a songbird in Michigan. Thank YOU! Please join us in our efforts to ban the target practice of this beloved backyard songbird. Together we can restore the protection of Michigan's Official Bird of Peace! WE NEED YOUR HELP in collecting 225,000 signatures in six short months to qualify this referendum for the November 2006 Ballot.

PLEASE ATTEND THE TRAINING NEAR YOU!

Come hear inspiring stories...and have fun while learning important tips and techniques for collecting 25 to 50 signatures an hour!
