- Summer jobs during high school (St. Benedict's in
Chicago) included bag boy at a local grocery store, etc.
- Summer jobs during college (DePaul University in
Chicago) included a drivers helper on a 7-UP truck, sales clerk
at Goldbaltt's in the deli department,
ROTC summer camp at
DePaul U in 1962, I attended basic
officer training at Ft.
Benning, Ga. through December. Started
Airborne
training several weeks before Christmas, took a one week leave (vacation)
to come back to Chicago to get married and then back to Georgia
for the last week (jump week) of airborne training. After
graduation, stayed at Ft. Benning for two months waiting for my
next assignment - Germany. Assigned to 3rd Platoon, Co. A,
2/87th Infantry as a Platoon Leader in Mannheim while living on
the economy in Weinheim. After a year and a half, reassigned
(and moved) to Worms as a supply officer of the 1/39 Infantry,
but shortly there after reassigned to Lampertheim as the
Executive Officer of the 8th Division Advanced Marksmanship Unit
(AMU). In November of 1965, my wife was diagnosed as having
Leukemia and we were reassigned back to Chicago where we lived
with her parents. I was reassigned to 5th Army Headquarters in
Chicago as the Plans Officer for Deputy Chief of Staff, Intelligence.
She died on July 17, 1966. My son was 2 years old at the time,
so I left the Army in June of 1967.
- Continental Bank, now known as Bank of America. Worked
in data processing operations as a technician and supervisor for
21 years. See resume for
specific duties and responsibilities. After the Pen Square
incident, CINB changed their business focus from a retail bank
to a commercial bank and significantly reduced the numbers of
data processing personnel. I still maintain contact with a number of
the systems professionals thru Internet EMAIL.

- ICS - Carson, Pirie, Scott, & Co
. Hired to do the disaster recovery planning for the data processing,
but after 3 months, the company was bought out by Bergners and the data
center was moved to Milwaukee within the year.
- Advantis,
formerly Sears Technology Service (STS).
As the senior technician, developed a documentation system for
the 20+ internal support teams and 25+ business units in eight
DASD complexes across three datacenters and coordinated most of
the semi-annual tests for each of the DASD complexes. Also
developed and conducted testing for recovery services for 14
Allstate complexes in the three Advantis data centers. Effective April,
1996, I will be working from my
TELECOMMUTING office, my home.
