Cardigan Welsh Corgwn

7 months
This wonderful puppy is now co-owned with a close friend. Unfortunately Bastion is permanently missing an adult front tooth due to an accident as a puppy, so will not be shown in conformation. 'Bazz the Spazz' as he has affectionately been called lately, has endless energy and a willingness to please that never stops which make him an outstanding performance dog, but his higher activity level is not the best match for an average pet home, so he has stayed here.
For now he has had some formal obedience classes and his teachers have called him 'the little OTCH dog'. What's an 'OTCH' you might ask? That means 'Obedience Trial Champion' and Bastion has been proving his potential already with a natural, near perfect heeling position, happy attitude and fast, straight sits. We hope to have him out doing obedience in future, but for now his great love is doing agility. He is currently attending advanced classes with plans to begin showing him in performance events sometime in 2006.

He is truly an incredible athlete and recently surprised one instructor by easily clearing a 24 inch jump in hopes of sharing a treat that was being offered to a much larger, but reluctant classmate. Once he'd secured a reward for his efforts from the amazed instructor, Bas turned and soared back over the same jump to wait for his turn to run again.

Bastion continues to develop into a very fine young dog and has many of the excellent qualities seen in this line. Good, balanced outline, excellent topline, angulation, bone, a handsome head, plus the same correct coat type and intense blue-black color as his other relatives here at Wyntr.

He is a very nice mover, as shown here at 8 weeks.
