Horizon Price Watch is a free bonus product for registered users of Horizon Investment Analyst.
Horizon Price Watch allows you to easily download price quotes and price history. Then, if you want, you can manipulate the data and save it to disk, in preparation for importing it into Horizon Investment Analyst.
Besides the ability to download financial data, Horizon Price Watch can also be used to load a file from disk, making it useful for manipulating the rows and columns of any kind of data that is in comma delimited format.
To download financial data, of course, Horizon Price Watch requires an internet connection. Also, it requires that Internet Explorer be installed, preferably version 6.0 or higher.
After installation, Horizon Price Watch can be run from your Program menu or Desktop. You can also add a shortcut to your Window's StartUp menu, so that Horizon Price Watch will automatically run every time that Windows starts. That way, it's always running in the background ready to download price quotes at any time during the day.
There is also an option to run it from Horizon Investment Analyst's menu.
Registered users of Horizon Investment Analyst may download Horizon Price Watch 1.25 here
Horizon Price Watch can download 2 different types of data: 1) current price quotes, and 2) price history. You can also import a file from disk, which is handy if you need to make additional changes to a file that you saved previously, or to manipulate the rows and columns of any kind of data that is in comma delimited format.
After downloading data, you can hide a column by right clicking its heading and selecting Hide column. You can hide rows the same way, by clicking on a row header in the first fixed column. To hide multiple columns or rows, click the first column or row you want to hide, then click the last one while holding the shift key. Then, right click as before.
This is handy so that when you save the data, you can specify that the program *not* save hidden columns and rows, and then the import file will contain only the data you want.
You can rearrange columns and rows by left-clicking a heading, and then dragging it and dropping it to another column or row. This allows you to further manipulate the data prior to saving it.
