Plan to join us at the 2008
"A Wool Gathering"!

You can talk to producers who raise fiber animals and artists who use the fibers in creative ways. There's always something for the whole family and it's FREE!

We're hoping the weather man will come through with two beautiful days as in 2007. As last year, Young's Jersey Dairy will be selling sandwiches, drinks and ice cream right in our area!
The Kids Craft area is always very popular! Children enjoy learning felting, weaving, spinning with a drop spindle, knitting, making rope and other crafts. It's great to watch the faces as they learn some new skills!
Jeb Mac (Jeff McKinley) and his wife, Carolina Pearl, will be back again this year entertaining the kids playing a farmhouse fiddle, banjo, lap dulcimer and other instruments. The children young and old enjoy singing along, playing instruments and dancing. What a great addition to any festival! Get in touch with him: jmckinle1@juno.com
Sheep shearer Eugene Hadenschield will demonstrate his skill each day. People are very fascinated by this event and Mr. Hadenschield is always happy to answer questions. sheep shearer
Some people come to "A Wool Gathering" just to see Mr. John Allread from St. Paris, Ohio and his herding dogs. As always he will impress the crowd with his skill to have his dogs guide the ducks around the obstacle course and into a tub of water. They are very impressive!
Sheep, alpacas, llamas, goats and rabbits are on display. Please respect the
"NO PETS ALLOWED"
rule which is needed for the safety of the livestock in the tents.
llama on display
Teaching and demonstrations are a big part of the festival and go on throughout both days. Visitors can watch and learn from spinners, weavers, rug hookers and other fiber artists and even try out the skill.
There will be a record number of vendors this year - some new and some who come back every year. There are always many comments about the quality of items available for purchase and that things can be found at this event that can't be found at any other place. vendor area
